I just spent the last 2 hours researching and creating an article about the life of Martin Luther King Jr.  If you would like to read the article you can find it here:

He was such a remarkable man gave a lot and had many personal hardships along the way as he fought for a country of equality.  I am sure you will find something in the article that you did not know about him.

For instance did you know that his wife battled for 15 years to get his birthday made in to a National Holiday?  Do you know which President finally signed the bill?

Thanks for sharing! I've been so very, very busy today, I guess I didn't even think about it being a holiday!!!!! Have had the computer and t.v. off most of the day, and I've gotten an incredibly lot of work done around here!

I don't know much about him really. In school and I mean all throughout the years I had this day pretty much shoved down my throat. Yes he was a great man who accomplished great things but you know so did a lot of other that don't get the same recognition

This post is so well written so easy to read. May I have permission to use it tomorrow in my class as a follow up lesson please? It is one of the best overviews of Martin Luther King Jr's life that I have seen.

Thanks for sharing your hard work. He was a great and instrumental man. I saw him many times. He wanted peace and fairness. I think he knew the price he was going to pay. Yes. He was a great pioneer!
